Joshua is correct, mostly. There are some that provide better service than others, or different services, but generally there is no difference for the core host services.
For domain hosting (if you have loads and want one central CP independent of hosting)
name.com is good, yes.
domainmonster.com is another good one for domain hosting.
But if you need web hosting the core ones would be:
I lean towards clouds now for hosting anything as it's more 'in-the-role' for the type of work that I us, and I find the fact that you have near unlimited control over that server and the domain, hosting, services, etc to work in my favour.
