Too much Clutter
« on: February 22, 2009, 06:56:18 pm »
There is definitely way too many Forum Sections now. It may be just me, but I find it rather distracting to have so many different sections to look through.

Personally, I think that we can definitely clear up a lot of the clutter. Here's how:

1. Merge Questions and Suggestions into "Questions or Suggestions"

2. Remove the Unions Section. (Perhaps move the Guild of Hard Workers into the General Economics)

3. Remove the 02/09 Re-election section. Problem has been solved, and it is now just taking up space.

Some other stuff that I can perhaps think of later  ;)

I have to agree with you.
A more compact forum will be more appealing and easier to use.
Plus it may reduce the amount of spam which seems to be increasing as of late.

You can minimise and maximise the different forum sections, using a + or - button on the blue header. And then you could add a filter to the view newest post filter so you only see stuff from sections you want to see stuff from.

Can't think of a better way to explain it really.

I'd have to second that.
Its a good idea. Have several forums as sub forums, instead of being proper forums. If they're collapsable it'd clear a lotta space.

Well I haven't been around that long so I won't have noticed changes some others may have noticed but there is still quite a lot of spam.

I agree. As a new citizen, I'm advised to join the forums but there are too many sections to know where to start looking for useful information, or to get a feel for the day to day goings on in the eUK.

This is getting out of hand. We need action by the forum admins now.

I quite like the long forum list, but if you have to shorten it, I think;

Questions and Suggestions could definitely be merged.
The job centre could go under general economics.
Art, Films and Music and Books could be merged.

You can't see the union sub forums from the index, you have to click on Economy or Unions for them to appear.

Many of the non erep related forums could be merged.
