how did you overcome the financial issues?

I'm having to keep taxes high and have my investments on the military and national stockpile really really low, only increasing them during war, otherwise I'll go into massive debt. I'm having to keep military spending at about 8%, if I bring it up to anything reasonable, like 80%, it costs me about 100 a day, but my army is tiny. Westernising is taking a long time and so I can't make factories atm.

I managed to annex Abu Dhabi and Oman, although I gave a bit away to Portugal to avoid war. I'm also struggling with reactionary rebels, and had to release Azerbaijan because they had some tough rebels. I couldn't handle them due to my massive debt.

I've recovered a bit now, have no debt, but I can't invest in my army or else I'll go back down again.

Any tips/thoughts/opinions?

and yeah, I'm Persia. :ugeek:

When I play, I tax the flower out of all the juicy poor people and hardly tax the capitalists and let them prop up the economy instead. Works...ish
