HDMI switches
« on: October 04, 2014, 05:45:30 pm »
Just thought I'd ask here.

I can find tonnes of cheap decent 3in1 HDMI switches, but no 2in1, as I only want two inputs and 1 output. 2 OUTPUTS and 1 INPUT.

Any suggestions?

Yeah.  Buy a 3in1  :s

But that means I'd need to press the button twice to switch to one of the two, and thats going to be annoying...

I need manual switching, so a button, as this is going to be augmented into a device.

(probably should have mentioned that)

Also, 21£ is a bit steep for me.

EDIT: also amended the OP, as realised I said 2 inputs and 1 output, I need 2 outputs to two screens and one input to the pc. (I'm confusing myself with this...)

not sure you need a switch at all, it should output to both simultaneously

It has to be manual, and display on one or the other.

Well I seem to hit the same wall you do- either 3-1 switches or 2-1 splitters with no switch. You could always make one, it's not hard just messy, but if you're building it into something else anyway...

I wouldn't know how to build one, got any tips or a tutorial?

I've decided not to pursue the idea of a HDMI Switcher for my current project, as it would simply require me to use a 3 in 1, and its not needed, so will use it for a future project.
