Sid Meier's Beyond Earth
« on: October 25, 2014, 02:24:19 pm »
Anyone got it? Disappointing lack of North Europe/UK faction, I guess that's so they can jew money out of us later for the DLC.

Looks good, dunno if I want to spend £30 on a game though. Might wait for the inevitable reductions at xmas.

I'm waiting for xmas, seems likely most people will too, if a few people do get it, we should try and do a few games, could even do big ones.

I got it, quite disappointed with it.  Played about an hour and half last night.

Would not recommend.

Gameplay wise it's the same as previous Civ games except obviously it's a Sci-Fi theme. So aliens instead of barbarians.

As you get into the game though it does have different types of machines and resources which makes it interesting. Such as satellites and robots. Which is epic.

I'd like to see the MP features but doesn't seem to want to work over internet for me. Either that or nobody anywhere is hosting games.

It's a mod of Civ 5 (the worst civ) for £30.

Buy the original (Alpha Centauri) though you may need an emulator for the older version of windows.

May have been XP it didn't run on then, I remember being dissapointed that I couldn't play it when I upgraded my PC years ago but not sure exactly what the issue was.

Civ V with all the dlc is ok. Hard to compare cos I played IV to death so V was a refreshing change at the time. Civ 2 still my favourite haha

Just looks like an over glorified civ V expansion to me.
