Too good to be true?
« on: January 06, 2010, 11:27:38 pm »
http://www.erepublik.com/en/get-gold/gold

Scroll down a bit and you'll see offers that get you gold... but do any of them actually work?

I've just spent a couple of minutes filling one it, and im slightly sceptic. No gold yet but it does say 15 min delay.

Thoughts?

I've got a bit of gold but I got bored of creating false details everytime. Some work, the majority don't.

I've made about 20g from these so far. If you have a debit/credit card, do sign up for LoveFilm and then cancel your subscription straight away - it's easy to do and gives you 10g.

The free ones are a lot of hassle unless you're really bored. Don't do the ones that say they'll give you a £5 gift card or something, they don't work.

I just found a RL address that I wouldn't feel bad for using - it was like the BBC headquarter's address or something - and filled in a few using a fake name and temporary email address. Made about 10G. Some of them let you get fairly far and then never give you the gold, which is a bit gay.

Of the 3 i've filled out 1 has worked, and that one was the one to win an apple macbook air.

At least I think it was that one, could have been a delay on one of the others though.

Done a couple of them myself, the T-Mobile is the fastest and easiest. All you need is valid address details (they know if post code is false)
Most of the others ones are lengthy and start requesting to choose some sort of offer which I don't want and must be completed to get the gold.
If you do some you need to wait a few minutes before the gold kicks in, you will get an alert letting you know.

Theres a few once where you sign up for a website, those are easy and get you quick gold. I don't bother with them unless I really need the gold

How about someone gets a list of the ones that do, and which ones can use false info on, etc etc.

then we can publish and bingo, lots of free gold for the UK :)

Yeah I thought about that too, it's a good idea :)

So far the only one i've got to work is the win a free apple macbook air one, and it took forever...

T mobile one doesn't seem to have worked for me, indeed it says gold is only awarded once you actually make the free sim(s) work, I gave the correct details, so if they arrive i'll stick them in my phone and see what happens.

I hear from alot of people that the lovefilm one is good, im just not too happy about giving my parents debit card details to a slightly dodgey looking site, even if i do cancel right after.

70md I filled in details with false phone number to the T-mobile, still haven't received sims but got the gold in 15 minutes. You mustn't of done it fully. Make sure you come to the screen with two lines saying thank you blah blah blah.

I'll do a running commentary so we can see where im going wrong :

Firstly im clicking this one:

FREE T-Mobile SIM Card!
Order your 2 free pay as you go SIMs and get unlimited texts for life when you top up £10 each month. Click here to order! All it takes is activation.
No purchase required to receive Gold
Gold awarded when you enter valid details and ACTIVATE YOUR SIM. Offer reports on a 15 minute delay.

It takes me to lolagrove.com

Just one page to fill in, I fill them in with everything but my phone no. correct and click submit

And it takes me to a white page that says simply:

Thanks For Submitting Your Details

Your Sim Card(s) Will Be Posted To You Shortly

And a little picture below that hasnt loaded properly.

Did it 2 mins ago, no gold yet.

I advise sims only so far, the questionnaire ones keep directing you to offer after offer after offer and you must select 1 or 2 of them to continue and if you keep skipping it starts over again. Don't get any free mobile stuff unless it gets delivered like sims, I tried the blow out a flame on your mobile one and lost £10 of credit and now 02 is asking me to top up to finish the transaction.
So use at your own risk but the free sims is legit.
