Luis Suarez
« on: December 20, 2011, 11:01:02 pm »
ok, so many people who follow English Football may be aware of the situation with Luis Suarez, he apparently insulted Manchester United defender referencing the colour of his skin. He was handed a 8 match ban and 40 grand fine.

There has been much reaction on Twitter and Facebook the main one being from Mario Ballotelli:
"The FA are willing to ban someone based on one persons claim, with no video evidence? In that case, the whole ManU squad racially abused me

Racism in football isn't news. Its been drenched in it since its birth. The whole premise of the supremacy of one's pride and joy over all others breeds prejudice anyway. People get far too into it, and the players are the worst role models ever.

Absolutely pathetic decision.

And don't be a troll Lap. Balotelli brings up a VERY valid point. How can the FA convict Suarez on one persons word against another persons word? Hey Veruvia, come here and tell us if this would stand in a court of law.

No, it wouldn't. Unless there were witnesses to the event and the court could prove beyond reasonable doubt that this happened, it would be thrown out of court without a doubt. What's more, if this did happen, it should have been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service because it's racially aggravated abuse. So, either the FA uses a different procedure (which it obviously does) or there's nothing substantial to this.

Wasn't this the case with John Terry as well? He was accused of being racially offensive to another player and the CPS took the case on because there was obvious evidence that it happened (video evidence or some such, I don't really watch football). This is just seems like a load of balls where the FA is slapping down bans on people without any real proof.

Smack  Balotelli is a great troll the shit he does is fucking lols. But yeh the fa panel shouldn't have given him a ban on 8 matches if they have no proof, but then I really don't think even the retarded fa would ban someone for 8 matches with no proof.

Balotelli is everything wrong with football. I can't wait to see what John Terry gets, seeing as how there is proper evidence. Anything less than 8 match ban then the FA are absolute hypocrites, plus he should be stripped of England captaincy (like he should have been before) and never play for them again.
He probably will stop playing soon anyway with Cahill taking his place.

Whether he's a troll is immaterial. He makes an incredibly valid point. The FA have now set a precedent, that if someone accuses someone of racism, even without any proof, they're going to be hit with an 8 match ban. So if Balotelli seriously goes to the FA and says "I was racially abused in this match by Roony, Ferdinand, Vidic and Nani", then they have to get an 8 match ban as well.

But Smack if they didn't have evidence they wouldn't have fined and banned him for 8 matches.

We'll have to wait to see what the FA say, but what I heard was Suarez admitted nothing, and that there was no other evidence, as NO ONE heard him say whatever it is he was accused of saying.

Does any of you actually realise Suarez admitted calling Evra a 'negro' several times? Suarez admitted it, end of story. 8 match ban good result for Football.

Actually, I believe what Luis Suarez said was that, that word isn't offensive in his country. I don't believe he ever admitted to using it.

On the same note, when will Evra be charged, for admitting he abused Suarez, in his evidence?

""We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suárez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms. Luis, to his credit, actually told the FA he had not heard the insult."

Lily I thought Suarez said negrito not negro. And like Smack said it isn't offensive in his country, it's meant to be a nickname but not an offensive one.
