Old-timer, new ambassador etc. Hello!
« on: April 27, 2014, 07:44:11 pm »
Hi there. Quick introduction from me. I've recently re-joined the game after some years of being away to finish up a political science degree. I'm taking a year off in RL Germany (to learn the language) and so have joined Germark here. I've just been assigned as their ambassador to the eUK as I have previously served as the UK MoFA as 'Lord Rhindon' - I do have some sort of (vague) background with the history here. I recognise a few faces, but not many.

So nice to meet you all, and looking forward to getting to know the community better (again).

Guten Tag. Germark's ambassador to the UK.

I recognise your name but my memory isn't what it was. Welcome anyway :)

Thanks! And yes I remember your name too. It's been a while. I think I've read somewhere that you've also just returned to the game?

What! Ohh I see, "Dear friends, I've returned to the eUK today ingame" (Economist) was definitely misinterpreted by me.

And thank you RodneyMcKay, also Diakun for his rate.

Welcome back I guess :)

You will notice nothing is the same and ambassadors are a dying species.

You've been around for as long as I can remember!

...ambassadors are a dying species.

That's an interesting statement. Why do you think this is the case? Diplomats have typically always been very slack on the job, so that side of things is nothing new haha.

That the active players are not that many and there where you had like 30 willing to be ambassador and 5 actualy did something you have now 5 who want to be and maybe 1 does something :)

Symptomatic of a general decline, then. I think eRepublik is the kind of game that would still be fun with even only half the current players.
