food is ponitless?

Postby Nice Guy Eddie » Wed Jul 28, 2010 6:27:39 am

should I bother with food?

If I'm going to fight each day then I'll end up at 70 each morning anyway. I'll be maintaining a constant wellness without food. What's the point?
The price of food and houses to fight a losing and pointless battle to keep wellness up doesn't seem worth while.

I was of the same opinion until yesterday. It seems there has been a bug where your food and housing benefit wasn't added on after the health check. It was added on for me after the health check yesterday for the first time.

No food means less than 70 wellness after the check up.

if you buy high happiness giving food, you can chillax less, and work/train/learn more.
In fact, I'm thinking of opening a happiness only food company.

This banana is sensible
Every +1 happiness from food/housing is +half an hour work (or will be, soon...)
This is a signature. It is hilarious.

This kind of specialisation is the future of the economy, at the moment, most specialisations in companies do not seem to be thought through fully, they seem to be generally balanced - particularly weapons companies, more specialised products, with more specific uses = growing market.

While it's understandable you might think that way, in the latest 'Insider' they have specified that

IF you do not have food in your inventory there will be a penalty applied AFTER the 70 wellness auto raise so that you will be on LESS THAN 70 wellness in such circumstances.

Therefore food is still needed. This assumes that they fix the bug where the application of house and food is correctly applied immediately AFTER the auto raise to 70 - and many players are still saying that this has not been done for all. I cannot verify this because I am not bothering to fight any more with the system the way it is and am merely working (just) and seeing how the basic economy gets fixed first ( if ever)

No food means I spend nothing on food and houses and can maintain a health of 67.
Buying good quality food and a decent house means probably starting each day ~80 for a sizable cost.

elbanaan is probably right, high happiness food is the best answer. Assuming you can earn enough from those extra working hours to cover the food cost.

70 wellness vs 100 wellness is only 15% more produced, so that 10 wellness is about 5%.
Then again, you won't get more money for that 5% more production.

I think I'm gonna make +8 happiness food, for a price of about 2-3 GBP. So when you make more then 0.6 GBP/h, it's worth working those extra 4h's

This is why I want to eKill myself for going Producer (we make +health components for food/tickets). Had I realized how all this would work out beforehand producer would have been my last choice :(

Why? Plenty of good jobs.

Sure, we have to change jobs because of RM's. But we get monies.

If you look at the food market, the first few are fairly even, but some higher Q companies specialise now.
