Sadly it's not supposed to be very good, It's gotten poor reviews. And they don't portray Holmes as a huge cocaine junkie like he was, which makes the film bad from the start.

I thought they strongly hinted at his opium addiction in some scenes.

Really? I just thought they portrayed him as an alchohlic, to avoid any negativity.

I got the impression he was on drugs in a few of the scenes. Although it only showed him drinking alcohol in some of the scenes it seemed clear to me that he had been taking something else.

lame film if you ask me. They made it into a typical "genre-Hollywood" film.


Arthur Conan Doyle must be crying in his grave now.

and it was obvious he was on crack in a gew scenes...like really, obvious :p

A few weeks ago we went to watch Avatar, sold out though.

So we ended up watching this, I thought it was a good film overall.

In retrospect after seeing both of those films

I would much rather watch Sherlock again.
